About the Role
- Oversees assigned sales territories and day-to-day activities of the sales team to meet and exceed established goals.
- Sets and tracks team members' goals and objectives.
- Collaborates with management to develop business plans that uncover new opportunities, increase sales, and drive territory growth.
- Conducts inbound and outbound sales calls to quote prices, provide product information, and build relationships with customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Creates and implements customer-specific business plans to uncover new opportunities, increase sales, and secure territory growth.
- Communicates regularly with the sales team to inform them of daily tracking of sales, customer, and product information.
- Prepares forecasts for monthly and quarterly performance by customer.
- Assigns tasks to team members to ensure coverage and completion of all relevant tasks.
- Evaluates customer slippage reports to determine which customers to focus attention on.
- Monitors each account's credit status to identify potential issues and interacts with the Credit department as necessary to resolve customer credit issues.
- Keeps updated profiles on all accounts to anticipate opportunities and tailor sales strategies.
- Participates in vendor-sponsored and corporate-sponsored training/meetings to stay up-to-date on new and existing products, industry knowledge, and company policies.
- Establishes consistent and frequent competitive intelligence reports for the Sales Manager, Human Capital Management, and Leadership Hiring, coaching, developing, and motivating sales team members.
- Maintains records, performance information, and documentation.
- Provides and pursues necessary training and development for employees.
- Conducts team member performance management, including administering Performance Improvement Plans, RoHR, monthly MBOs, attendance, and adherence to TD policies and procedures.
- Responsible for team reward and recognition programs, including nominations and monitoring of division and corporate programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
