Business Development Manager for Publishers

Amazon Support Services Costa Rica SRL is seeking a highly skilled Technical Account Manager to join our North America Books team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building strong relationships with book publishers and stakeholders worldwide to drive the seamless ingestion of metadata throughout the digital and physical supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively monitor ingestion and operational systems to identify and address technical issues.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders to execute the launch of new publishers, processes, programs, and features impacting the Technical Account Managers and our customers (publishers and readers).
  • Drive data-driven decision making to improve organizational efficiency.
  • Implement Technical Account Manager-focused projects focused on catalog and metadata improvements.
  • Develop concise and effective training and communications for publishers.
  • Drive root cause tracking and resolution across the team.
  • Interact with content providers to stay on top of new content deliveries, changes in specs, and resolution of problems including issues related to ingestion, processing, and reporting.
  • Consistently improve content provider and customer experience by delivering superior publisher support and ensuring that their needs are understood throughout the enterprise.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of experience managing external vendor/client relationships or advanced technical support.
  • 1+ years of experience driving process improvements.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • General knowledge of digital media data elements, ONIX, CODECs, XML, FTP, Images, Encoding, DRM, etc.
  • Experience with Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, Excel, Access, Unix desired.
  • Experience in the publishing industry and a passion for books.
  • Experience managing multiple, cross-functional projects simultaneously.
  • Problem-solving aptitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data to back up assumptions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to maintain composure under pressure.
  • Communication and collaboration skills that enable you to earn trust.
  • Familiarity with the design and utilization of complex systems.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
