The Microsoft Customer Experience and Success (CEnS) organization is responsible for designing and implementing the Microsoft end-to-end customer experience strategy. As an Escalation Engineer, you will investigate and solve critical, complex, and highly technical issues using code-level techniques such as trace and source code analysis, debugging tools, reverse engineering techniques, and sophisticated diagnostic tools. You will drive Product Engineering engagement, handle highly complex cases, and act as a key collaboration point for support teams.

Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you should have a good understanding of Windows System Administration, Configuration, including:

  • Registry management
  • File Storage management
  • User Accounts and Access Control management
  • Event Logs and Auditing management
  • Performance and Resource Monitor management
  • Naming (TCP, IP)

Experience in one or more of these areas is desirable:

  • Automated installation of Windows
  • User Profile management
  • Windows Update management
  • Kerberos and delegation
  • Bitlocker administration
  • Windows Shell configuration and management
  • Windows Activation, Licensing
  • Remote Desktop Services configuration and management
  • Clustering
  • Printing configuration and management
  • Resilient Storage technology (clustering, storage spaces)
  • Server management tools
  • Hyper-V management and VM deployment
  • Application installation and management
  • Windows backup and VSS
  • Powershell scripting
  • Active Directory topology and management
  • Network Tracing and analysis
  • Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) deployment, management
  • Remote File Systems (SMB)
  • Group Policy management
  • DNS deployment, management
  • Troubleshooting hangs and crashes in Windows
  • Network Virtualisation (Hyper-V, SDN)
  • Troubleshooting performance issues using PerfMon and other tools
