IT Technical Service Director

About the Role:
This position is responsible for overseeing the Product Materials Compliance (PMC) and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) services at Emerson. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, with experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define the strategic direction for PMC and EHS services, including service scope, SLAs, and cost models.
- Act as the primary interface to customers, educating them on service aspects, tracking demand, resolving issues, and planning project work.
- Coordinate SOW reviews, track project expenses, ensure proper management of invoices from 3rd party suppliers, and provide annual forecasts and performance metrics.
- Oversight of all PMC and EHS projects, reviewing aspects from proposal through execution, and conducting formal walk-throughs as necessary.
- Remediate problem projects and solve complex technical problems, providing consultative support to project teams and business sponsors.
- Ensure an appropriate career path is available for employees within the service's purview, and that succession planning is done for key roles annually.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of IT and business work experience, including 5 or more years managing projects.
- Experience with projects in multiple technologies and functions.
- Proficient in Project Management methodologies and tools, resource management practices, and change management techniques.
- Exceptional customer service orientation, including written and verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively work in a team environment.
- Ability to define, organize, and self-manage workload around defined project milestones to meet project goals and deadlines in a multi-project environment.
- Multitasking, high-priority evaluation, and delivering quality performance under pressure.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
