System Support Engineer Role Summary

Splunk is looking for a skilled System Support Engineer to provide high-level support to our enterprise customers and partners. This dynamic role requires technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide in-depth software support for top-tier clients, including US Fortune 100 companies
  • Develop a deep understanding of Splunk's products and services
  • Solve complex technical issues to identify root causes and implement solutions or workarounds across various environments
  • Contribute to documentation content and participate in online forums to support real-time customer inquiries
  • Reproduce customer issues, file bug reports as needed, and collaborate with engineering teams
Requirements:
  • Familiarity with UNIX (Linux, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX), Windows, and Mac OS operating systems
  • Understanding of regular expressions (Regex) and Python scripting
  • Knowledge of Perl, shell scripting, XML, HTML, and Business Intelligence is a plus
  • Ability to isolate problems between hardware and software, providing clear information to development teams
  • Demonstrated customer service experience supporting large-scale organizations like the US Fortune 100
  • Strong networking concepts and process-oriented skills for troubleshooting, problem-solving, and resolution
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Estimated Salary:

$120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience
