Software Instrument Development Opportunity

The Teradyne Software Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated and technically driven Intern to focus on the development of software systems for products within the Eagle Test division.

About the Role

This position involves developing software that presents a programmatic interface to the software and hardware controlling Automatic Test Equipment (ATE). The software must control the hardware while also interfacing with databases and class structures loaded onto the ATE. The goal is to create an intuitive user experience, ensuring ease of use, completeness, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing a customer toolset (programmatic interface software) to control and use instruments on ATE systems
  • Assist in debugging system and board-level hardware operations through the software toolset
  • Develop and maintain internal software tools to assist the development and debugging process
  • Develop and maintain internal tools to measure and assure the quality of the delivered software

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and group communication skills
  • Self-motivation and proactivity
  • A firm grasp of the software development process

Nice-to-Have Skills

While not required, the following skills are highly desirable:

  • Proficiency in C++
  • Quality analysis skills
  • Proficiency in C# under COM/ATL
  • Source control management
  • Experience working with issue tracking systems (e.g., JIRA)

Estimated Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on location and qualifications
