Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team at Zapotal Golf & Beach Club. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing the financial operations of our community, including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage month-end accounting closing and reporting, including standard and recurring journal entries, payroll entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate general and subsidiary ledgers.
- Process homeowner-related billing for milestone and change order activity.
- Work closely with our project controller to implement current GAAP/IFRS pronouncements and process improvements.
- Assist with the annual budget process and participate in the external audit exercise as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting or related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of public accounting experience, preferably in development accounting or real estate.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand Spanish.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
