Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our technical support group, you will be responsible for providing front-line support for our proprietary technologies. Your primary focus will be on investigating and resolving technical issues, managing incidents, and contributing to initiatives aimed at improving the production platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform controlled resolution of incidents and problems, including prioritization and escalation to relevant groups when necessary.
- Analyze root causes of problems and ensure follow-through to resolution.
- Communicate effectively with operations, technology, and business partners on a regional or global basis.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of how various areas of application support integrate to contribute to achieving business goals.
- Interact with software vendors to provide best solutions to business problems.
- Participate in disaster recovery testing.
- Maintain technical support documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Working experience with Unix or Linux environment.
- Experience handling ETL jobs with sound expertise in UNIX to identify issues at data level and trace file transfers from one system to another.
- Working experience supporting relational databases - Oracle, Microsoft SQL.
- Good expertise in database level analysis to trace issues to closure.
- Extensive experience in writing complex and efficient SQL DML statements.
- Incident tracking & reporting.
- Managing ticketed query system.
- ServiceNow knowledge is a plus (ITIL).
- Knowledge of scheduling tools (such as Autosys).
- Strong design & execution bend of mind to help resolve complex technical issues.
- Intermediate/advanced English - be able to speak fluently.
- Bachelor's Degree in Comp science, IT, or other engineering disciplines.
