About the Role
Citi is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Technical Support Specialist in the Database and ETL space.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing front-line technical support to Citi's proprietary technologies, encompassing hands-on investigation and issue resolution, incident management, and participation in initiatives to enhance the production platform.
- Perform controlled resolution of incidents and problems, including prioritization and escalation to relevant groups when necessary, along with root cause analysis and follow-through to resolution.
- Communicate effectively with operations, technology, and business partners on a regional or global basis.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of how areas of application support collectively integrate to contribute to achieving business objectives.
- Interact with software vendors to provide optimal solutions to business challenges.
- Participate in disaster recovery testing.
- Develop and maintain technical support documentation.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must have working experience with Unix or Linux environments, expertise in handling ETL jobs, and sound knowledge of UNIX to identify issues at data level and trace file transfers between systems.
Additionally, they should possess working experience supporting relational databases such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL, with good expertise in database-level analysis to trace issues to closure.
Extensive experience in writing complex and efficient SQL DML statements is also required.
- Experience in Incident, Problem Management: Incident tracking & reporting.
Managing ticketed query systems.
ServiceNow knowledge is a plus (ITIL).
- Knowledge of scheduling tools (such as Autosys).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex technical issues.
- It is desired but not mandatory to have experience with ETL/Database Development tools.
- Passion for technology.
- Knowledge on data analysis and reporting tools is a plus.
- Advanced English language proficiency.
