Technical Support Specialist for Cloud Infrastructure

Overview
Ibm, a global leader in technology innovation, is seeking a skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our cloud infrastructure support team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' cloud-based systems.
Your Role and Responsibilities
In this challenging and dynamic role, you will be responsible for providing technical support assistance to our clients using problem determination and problem source identification skills. You will communicate action plans to our clients to ensure that they are satisfied with steps towards resolution or the root cause of the problem. Additionally, you will continually flex your programming and technology skills through driving problem resolution using improvements to existing and/or new technical support tools and procedures.
You will work closely with our development team to examine source code, provide feedback for product improvement, create test cases, and develop tools or debug modules for our clients. Your ability to troubleshoot technical issues, including networking, web applications, operating systems, file systems, and user management, will be essential in resolving complex problems related to high-speed file transfer software in enterprise environments.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- A strong understanding of container technologies, Kubernetes, cloud skills, and networking protocols
- Knowledge of Unix and Windows platforms
- Proficiency in networking skills, such as UDP and TCP
- Troubleshooting technical issues (networking, web apps, operating system, file system and user management) in the deployment of high-speed file transfer software in enterprise
- Knowledge of Windows Active Directory/Group Policy, LDAP, SAML, SSO, etc.
- Scripting skills, such as Unix shell, Windows batch, Perl, Ruby, or Python
- Basic skills in database server (MySQL) administration
- Communication and customer focus skills - able to understand customer problems and articulate current status to customers
- Ability to recommend and implement new or improvements to existing technical support tools, procedures, and processes
