SUMMARY

Ribbon Technical Support (RTS) is a customer facing technical support role responsible for resolving complex technical issues in networks carrying VoIP/TDM traffic.
RTS engineers are responsible of evaluating, troubleshooting, reproducing and determining a solution for reported issues.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide support to key Latim American customers as part of a premium support team.
- Participate in an on-call rota for support of specific customers.
- Interface directly with internal/external customers, other vendors and Product/Design teams when software fixes are required, acting as an advocate for the customer within Ribbon.
Perform software upgrades in telecommunication networks.
- Document activities related to issue resolution in a ticketing system that allows customers to open and follow up fault reports.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A BS degree in Electronics and Telecommunications, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering is a requirement.
- Strong communication skills as well as the ability to work effectively as part of an international and multicultural team.
- Extensive customer support or related skills experience in telecoms is required for this position.
- Experience with operating systems such as Red Hat, Solaris, Linux and Windows is required.
- Experience in cloud, virtualization, OSS, and Network Management.
- Skills in database and backups.
- Good skills in Telecommunications Protocols (OSPF, ISIS, MPLS, etc).
- Knowledge in CCNA, CCNP, HCNA.
- Knowledge in DWDM, IP MPLS, is preferable.
- Experience in scripting and back-end development
- Knowledge in Critical infrastructure
- Willing to travel in Latin America.
- Problem solving skills, effective time management, service and customer oriented attitudes are required.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and knowledge on customer networks are required.
