Job Description

This role focuses on collecting balances from customer accounts that are outside of credit terms. The successful candidate will build and maintain relationships with customers to ensure business continuity and prevent overdue balances.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive and respond to customer inquiries regarding overdue accounts and current exposures.
  • Contact customers via email and phone to communicate account statements, request payments, and update collection efforts.
  • Monitor and record the results of collection attempts and customer communication in the accounting system and tracking reports.
  • Work with the AR Team Leader and AR Supervisor to resolve escalated accounts and maintain open lines of communication with Hellmann staff and customers.
  • Maintain a list of follow-ups and report on accounts with disputes.
  • Participate in scheduled calls with HWL customers and internal parties to resolve past due balances.
  • Provide weekly reporting metrics as requested by the AR Team Leader.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by the Supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma is required.
  • At least one year of related experience is necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish are essential.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
  • Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is necessary.

This role requires frequent standing and walking, regular sitting for extended periods, and heavy phone contact.
