Bill Gosling Outsourcing is actively searching for a Desktop Support Technician to enhance our team.

As a Desktop Support Technician, your responsibilities will include:

Providing assistance to end users within our organization for their fundamental information technology needs concerning hardware and software. You will aid in diagnosing issues to ensure the operational efficiency of our systems in alignment with organizational objectives. Your role will involve the installation, upkeep, and troubleshooting of necessary software and hardware, whether on-site or remotely, for clients or colleagues.

You will also be responsible for the groundwork, installation, and maintenance of end-user workstation equipment (laptops/desktops) and additional peripherals, including telecommunications technology.
Maintenance tasks will include the removal and replacement of computer devices. You will collaborate with vendor technical support teams and related services according to organizational protocols. The technician will be engaged in setting up software and hardware across various operating systems such as Windows, Unix, Linux, and others.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Helpdesk team with Desktop Support activities, including the secure deployment of workstations, portable devices, keyboards, mice, monitors, and telephony equipment. Assist operational and support staff with helpdesk-related processes, tasks, and project items through various communication channels including voice, SMS, and chat. Provide support to the IT Department with technology-related tasks as needed, including data center and office cabling. Facilitate team and operational training on various applications. Monitor daily operations and enhance processes to improve technology efficiency. Possess knowledge of Information Systems relevant to supporting workstations, portable devices, keyboards, mice, monitors, and telephony software, including both hardware and software. Promote company core values and other organizational initiatives. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent / 2 years in Tertiary Education for specific regions.

Post-Secondary education in a related IT field is preferred.

Understanding of Information Technology concerning hardware and software support is essential.

Experience

A minimum of six months of successful experience with the company, or equivalent IT-related experience outside the organization.

Prior experience with Information Technology Systems in supporting a Windows, Linux, or Mac environment for hardware and software is required.
