Payroll Manager

In this position, you will be the designated Payroll professional within a centralized Regional GBS Payroll Department, ensuring the precise and timely execution of payroll processes. This includes managing payroll for all employees across the region while maintaining meticulous records and control reports. You will be instrumental in driving continuous process enhancements and upholding all internal policies and procedures. Additionally, you will serve as the primary trainer for staff on all operational procedures and system applications. Participation in year-end payroll closing activities and preparation of manual checks will also be part of your responsibilities. You will ensure compliance with all internal and external audit standards and act as a backup for Payroll Coordinators.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily functions of the assigned Payroll team, including pay data processing, communication with internal and external customers, and resolving payroll discrepancies for a centralized Payroll operation. Develop and implement enhancements to processes and provide training for Payroll personnel. Serve as the point of contact for benefit and payroll transactions. Manage the integration between Workday and local payroll systems. Process payroll adjustments that occur outside of the regular schedule. Ensure the timely and accurate update of employee year-end tax forms, including third-party sick pay and relocation information. Prepare essential monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, including statutory reporting, internal and external audits, and tax reconciliations. Collaborate as a member of cross-GBS teams on projects related to Workday system upgrades and local Payroll and Time & Attendance systems. Ensure accurate payroll data is transmitted to local finance teams for ledger entries. Execute and verify payroll outbound interfaces sent to third-party vendors.

Qualifications for Success:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Payroll, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a payroll department. Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive supervisory experience. At least 5 to 7 years of regional Payroll experience using payroll applications in a large multi-country organization. Proficient in Microsoft Excel with a working knowledge of Microsoft Access; prior experience with SAP is preferred, along with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes. Strong communication skills and a quick learner. Physical Requirements: Ability to work in an office setting and operate a computer for extended periods.
