Strategic Continuous Improvement Leader

As a key member of Te Connectivity's leadership team, the Global Continuous Improvement Manager plays a pivotal role in driving business growth and excellence across the organization. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations Strategy, this full-time position is responsible for developing and leading a multi-year strategic roadmap to deliver on business objectives associated with Continuous Improvement and Net Productivity improvement.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Medical sites: Oregon, Minnesota, Empalme, Costa Rica or Galway, and contribute to shaping the future of our company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Lean practices, experience in using value stream mapping and implementing lean tools, as well as a proven track record of leading large-scale continuous improvement programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a multi-year roadmap that identifies key programs to enable delivery of overall Medical and site-specific net productivity objectives
- Ensure a process is in place to regularly update and refresh the overall roadmap, which can be utilized in quarterly forecasting, annual planning, and multi-year strategic planning processes
- Engage plant leadership on the overall business and site journey, utilizing change management to gain acceptance of overall strategy
- Engage leaders of key levers and focus areas, such as TEBest, Digital Factory, Automation, COPQ improvement, etc., to support strategy development and execution
- Implement standard structures for execution and reporting that drives continuous cost reductions
- Work closely with all functions to ensure robust problem-solving and continuous improvement techniques are in use
- Support sites develop a strong, results-driven team that executes on key improvement programs with a culture of accountability that becomes embedded in the organization
- Actively contribute to the professional growth of employees, identifying key players, proposing actions aimed at motivating key employees
- Develop talents and future leaders
- Drive a culture of creativity, speed, efficiency, innovation, and continuous learning in the organization
- Engage with the regional operations leader to ensure standardization of process and approach across the Medical network
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations as well as all TE policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience
- Minimum 10 years' leadership experience in an advanced manufacturing company, with progressive levels of responsibility
- Previous experience leading large-scale continuous improvement programs
- Experience of site performance transformation an advantage
- Strong background in Lean practices, experience in using value stream mapping and implementing lean tools, such as: 5S+1, Visual Factory, Standard Work, Quick Changeover, Material Replenishment & Flow, and TPM essential
- Strong team leader and talent developer
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically to deliver results
- Analytically minded and data-driven to have a holistic overview of complex situations
- Ability to adapt to work priorities in response to a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
