About the Role

The Strategic Financial Leader will play a pivotal role in driving the financial success of our Costa Rica office. This position requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as excellent communication and analytical abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Serves as a key member of the office management team, providing strategic financial guidance and oversight.
  2. Oversees office billing and fee management operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  3. Closely manages accounts payable, collections, billing, overhead expenses, and productivity projections, identifying areas for improvement and implementing process enhancements.
  4. Monitors accounts receivable, collaborating with internal stakeholders to optimize collection efforts and minimize bad debt.
  5. Prepares monthly estimates of profit and loss, managing the monthly close process and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  6. Reviews vendor contracts, providing feedback on business terms and ensuring favorable agreements.
  7. Identifies opportunities for process improvements, leading initiatives to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  8. Works closely with the FW Accounting Team to oversee and support tax/accounting audits.
  9. Provides financial reporting as required, analyzing data to inform business decisions.
  10. Reviews and processes bad debt write-offs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  11. Approves weekly expense report entries for payment, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  12. Analyzes general ledger accounts, maintaining balance sheet accounts and journal entries.
  13. Participates in Firmwide Accounting Manager calls and initiatives, sharing best practices and knowledge.
  14. Maintains an efficient team that can function independently, providing training and support on new or existing financial tools and processes.
  15. Supports/Performs project accounting and accounts payable roles as needed.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration, or Accounting.
  • At least 8 years of related experience in finance, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of revenue processes and financial management principles.
  • Excellent bilingual English/Spanish language skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment, producing accurate and timely deliverables.
  • Excellent business communication, supervisory, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a high level of accuracy.
  • Able to work effectively alone and in a team environment.
  • Proficient in data management and analysis.
