The Role / Responsibilities:

The Senior Vice President Capability Center, Costa Rica Country Head will be responsible for leading the execution of the Capability Center Strategy and local leadership objectives in Costa Rica. The holder of this position will need to collaborate closely with the local leaders across Moody’s, ensuring efficient coordination and execution of strategies across all teams in Costa Rica. This includes partnering with business and corporate function leaders as a trusted partner to identify opportunities to expand the strategic capabilities and business processes performed in Costa Rica.

Key responsibilities:

Develop and execute Moody’s Capability Center strategy and local leadership objectives in Costa Rica in alignment with Moody’s strategic priorities. Establish an effective local governance model that supports the execution of the Capability Center strategy and local leadership objectives in Costa Rica. Identify opportunities to expand the business processes performed in Costa Rica by coordinating with global and local business units managers. Develop plans and assess feasibility for headcount expansion, matching business requirements with local talent availability in the country. Manage the local Capability Center dashboard and reporting framework to facilitate the tracking and analysis of performance metrics across Costa Rica. Oversee the Costa Rica Capability Center budget, strategically prioritizing investments to support initiatives that align with the overall strategy and drive employee engagement. Partner with other Capability Center leaders to share best practices and find new opportunities for growth. Create a working environment to attract, retain, and foster high-caliber talent, including robust professional development programs and a supportive, inclusive culture across Costa Rica. Collaborate closely with the People team and the business local leaders to develop and implement a cohesive Talent Acquisition strategy across Costa Rica. Provide strategic support to the local leadership to promote an inclusive and positive work environment and communications, fostering staff satisfaction, retention, and overall staff wellbeing. Plan and coordinate staff activities across Costa Rica. Monitor and analyze Business Engagement Survey (BES) results for all Moody’s Costa Rica. Formulate and implement, in partnership with local leaders, response actions to BES results. Lead initiatives aimed at fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Facilitate the development and implementation of new capabilities that enhance business operations and drive superior outcomes. Regularly gather feedback from local business units managers and their global managers on the effectiveness of their operations in Costa Rica. Liaise with the relevant People and other Shared Services functions to ensure business activities are adequately supported by corporate services. Escalate material issues to Global Capability Center Leader, global business units, and corporate services managers as appropriate. Develop and implement a comprehensive communication framework to effectively message the Capability Center strategy and the local leadership objectives across all Moody’s Costa Rica. Engage and lead discussions with business leaders to drive a unified message around the Capability Center value proposition and expansion opportunities across all Moody’s Costa Rica locations. Create efficient communication channels and engagement models with business units to promote and facilitate the adoption of the Capability Center and gather feedback on the effectiveness of this operations across Moody’s Costa Rica. Establish and enhance Moody’s reputation within the external marketplace as an Employer of Choice Promote Moody’s Capability Center activities and contribution to the local community/economy and foster relationships with relevant authorities, industry associations, education institutions, recruitment agencies, the media, and other influential stakeholders. Promote Moody’s employee value proposition through relevant channels in collaboration with local business units managers, Talent Acquisition and Communications. Oversee that Moody’s sustainability and Inclusion strategies are effectively executed in Costa Rica and are promoted in support of Moody’s brand and corporate identity. Active engagement and support with local Business Resource Groups to drive best in class Inclusion initiatives. Ensure effective governance across Moody’s Costa Rica operations. In cooperation with Finance, represent Moody’s and manage relationships with tax and other governmental authorities, internal and external auditors, and other stakeholders with oversight on Moody’s Costa Rica. Participate in Moody’s legal entities boards and other corporate governance bodies as required. In cooperation with Business Continuity, develop and manage the business continuity plans for the Costa Rica office. In cooperation with Real Estate, manage the office footprint and supervise facilities management services, ensuring that the Moody’s Costa Rica office is well supported withing budget requirements.

Qualifications :

Master’s degree in business administration, Finance, Computer Science, or related field. Minimum of 12 years of progressive leadership experience in the technology and finance service sector in Costa Rica, with a clear track record of strategic planning and execution. Demonstrated success in managing large teams with a focus on optimizing resources and enhancing productivity. Proven ability to work effectively across diverse cultures and geographies supporting teams in different fields. Surfaces and addresses conflict constructively while skillfully juggling competing priorities and projects. Deep understanding of global business operations, with the ability to identify opportunities for capability and support expansion. Strong strategic thinker, with the ability to see the big picture and align operational activities with Moody’s strategic priorities. High autonomy in achieving business objectives, strong leadership, and management skills. Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively articulating the business strategy and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including Executive Leadership Members and external partners. Ability to adapt and innovate in response to changing business needs and market conditions. Demonstrated ability to lead change, think globally, and execute passionately and with purpose. **Additional Requirements: ** Fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory. Willingness to travel as needed to engage with global teams and stakeholders. Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and inclusion initiatives.
