- As a key member of the Abbott Laboratories team, the Business Human Resources Manager plays a vital role in driving HR results in the business. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of HR laws and regulations and be able to develop and implement effective HR strategies to drive client satisfaction, HR effectiveness, and associated financial results.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for development, administration, communication, and enforcement of policies and programs covering all disciplines of Human Resources. Partnering with management to implement human resources programs, resolve employee relations issues, and interpret policies will be a key responsibility of this role.
- This position will work out of our Costa Rica - Alajuela Coyol location and will be responsible for managing and leveraging human resources within the scope of delivered project services while supporting the business. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge in the areas of employee relations, talent acquisition, compensation & benefits, and learning & development.
- The Business Human Resources Manager will be responsible for the diagnosis, development, and delivery of HR strategies, programs, and services that influence and drive the needs of the division. The ideal candidate will ensure strategies incorporated are consistent with divisional/corporate values, sound and ethical business practices, and Abbott HR practices and support the long-range business plan.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision and provision of work direction to both NE and EX HR employees. Assessing training needs, designing, and developing training programs will also be a key responsibility of this role.
- Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related discipline, 7+ years' experience in a variety of HR discipline functions with at least 5 years of management experience, and a strong working knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
- Prior experience in a recruiting/interviewing role in a manufacturing environment and experience consulting on a wide variety of employee relations situations are also required. Advance command of English is required.
- Preferred qualifications include familiarity with HRIS/Payroll systems, Workday, and knowledge of benefit and compensation plans. A Master's degree is also preferred.
