Position Overview

As the Manager, Project Management, you will play a pivotal role in our company-wide program office, supporting the expansion of our shared services offerings to Thermo Fisher businesses. You will lead the execution of transition, migration, process improvement, automations, system implementations, and other change and transformation programs, ensuring successful program delivery. With your proven project management expertise, you will oversee project portfolios and ensure the successful delivery of portfolio goals. Collaboration will be a key aspect of this role as you work closely with a wide range of partners within and outside of Global Business Services, ensuring an integrated approach.

Major Areas of Responsibility

Support and lead cross-functional, geographically distributed project teams to achieve desired outcomes.Collaborate with horizontal workstreams to address interdependencies, lead project governance bodies, and project workstreams.Collaborate with essential individuals to guarantee the efficient and high-quality execution of programs across various workstreams and businesses.Lead through and own the outcomes of ideation sessions, feasibility studies, process assessments, and design workshops to translate customer requirements into the future state.Prepare and maintain complex project plans, define deliverables and owners, check resource requirements, and seek resources.Regularly evaluate project plans, including reviews of key goals and outcomes, to ensure projects are well-prepared and meet quality standards.Lead and manage assigned projects or defined areas of complex projects, regardless of scope (including complex business transformations, automations, system implementations, migrations, transitions, process reengineering, etc.).Drive project requirements, deliverables, and progress throughout the project's lifecycle with Business, Operational teams, IT, and any other functions.Implement suitable methodologies to successfully complete tasks and achieve project goals within the designated timeframe, while ensuring high quality and cost-effectiveness.Identify and address potential problems, challenges, tasks, choices, and connections, taking responsibility for resolving urgent matters and actively seeking ways to minimize risks.Manage critical path processes related to project delivery.Collect project information during regular project meetings, record and share updates on project progress, outcomes, and obstacles to project implementation, monitor key progress points to ensure timely completion.Responsible for regular reporting cadences, ensuring clear communication of project outcomes (risks, issues, actions, and decisions), and leading Steering Committee discussions.Oversee a portfolio of projects, manage project changes and interventions to keep the portfolio on track, act as the single source of truth for the overall health and savings pipeline.Foster a team of individuals who consistently demonstrate exceptional skills and strong motivation.Create a culture of excellence in line with our Thermo Fisher Value.
Required Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree in a business-related field preferred, although equivalent experience will be considered.Project Management certification (PMP, Prince2, Agile, etc.) highly desirable.5+ years of solid experience managing complex, global programs and project initiatives.Experience in Finance operations (OTC, PTP, FA, Inventory) or Customer Service is preferred.GBS experience is highly desirable.Experience in Agile project management is an advantage.Proficiency in English (verbal and written).

Strong abilities in project management (planning tools, defining objectives, developing a rationale and baseline).Demonstrated experience in successfully leading complex, multidimensional projects.Ability to work independently, within a team, and collaboratively across teams.Capable of prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, efficient in time management.Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills across all levels of the organization.Sound workshop facilitation skills, including the ability to deliver difficult or intricate messages in a measured and clear manner.Good communicator and can also practice active listening.Can efficiently cope with change and can comfortably handle risk and uncertainties.Have interpersonal savvy, good negotiating skills, resolving issues, and the ability to learn on the fly.
