Pfizer's Procure-to-Pay Operations Manager

Pfizer's Global Business Services (GBS) Shared Services is a well-established organization with a history dating back to 1997. Our team has expanded globally, currently operating in over six regions worldwide. As a key member of our GBS Shared Services team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to drive business excellence and efficiency across procurement, payment processing, and vendor management.
Job Summary
The Procure to Pay Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and daily operations of the Procure-to-Pay process. This role reports directly to senior leadership and plays a critical part in ensuring that we meet our service level agreements, statutory requirements, and special country processing needs. You will be an expert in industry standards and best practices, taking into consideration accounting standards, internal controls, and regional policies. Your technical expertise will help leverage technology platforms to bring effectiveness and efficiencies to the operation.
Main Responsibilities
- Monitor daily operations to ensure adherence to established service level agreements, statutory requirements, and special country processing needs.
- Review monthly operational performance with the management team/stakeholders to identify recommendations for improvements.
- Resolve customer/team escalations through effective decision-making.
- Partner with stakeholders on all global and country initiatives to maintain high-level satisfaction of TIP.
- Ensure Working Instructions and other process-related documents are maintained and updated in a timely manner.
- Implement and review regular compliance checks and internal controls.
- Develop compelling development plans for colleagues, focusing on talent growth, strengths, and abilities.
- Work closely with senior team leads to prioritize workload and proactively follow up on outstanding items.
- Own P2P procedures from start to finish, ensuring the best possible outcome.
- Manage the first point of contact for all P2P customers.
- Solve highly complex issues involving multiple areas.
- Partner with senior leadership to develop and translate the vision and strategy of Procure to Pay from a systems, process, policy, and procedures perspective.
- Maintain and exceed metrics and goals while monitoring key performance indicators.
- Identify processes and initiatives that fit into our Digital Finance strategy.
- Think strategically with strong analytical and process management skills.
- Lead a team that may be extended to a third-party outsourced team.
- Actively support our GBS value proposition by keeping processes aligned with our delivery model and global standard.
- Enhance internal control structures and optimize processes.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, projects, and stakeholder collaborations.
- Execute adequate internal controls and understand SOPs properly.
- Liaise and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders as well as Senior Leaders across Pfizer to drive shared goals and implement initiatives.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date Work Instructions, Job Aids, and Desktop Procedures documentation.
