Strategic Operations Manager for Process Excellence

At Te Connectivity, our Continuous Improvement Teams are dedicated to driving business strategies through innovative programs and projects that enhance products, services, or processes. As a Global Continuous Improvement Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing and leading a multi-year strategic roadmap to deliver on business objectives associated with Continuous Improvement and Net Productivity improvement.

This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Director of Operations Strategy. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working across various Medical sites, including Oregon, Minnesota, Empalme, Costa Rica, or Galway, to drive site-specific net productivity objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a multi-year roadmap that identifies key programs to achieve overall Medical and site-specific net productivity objectives
  • Ensure a process is in place to regularly update and refresh the overall roadmap, utilizing it in quarterly forecasting, annual planning, and multi-year strategic planning processes
  • Engage plant leadership on the overall business and site journey, utilizing change management to gain acceptance of the overall strategy
  • Engage leaders of key levers and focus areas, such as TEBest, Digital Factory, Automation, COPQ improvement, etc., to support strategy development and execution
  • Implement standard structures for execution and reporting to drive continuous cost reductions
  • Work closely with all functions to ensure robust problem-solving and continuous improvement techniques are in use
  • Support sites in developing a strong, results-driven team that executes on key improvement programs with a culture of accountability
  • Actively contribute to the professional growth of employees, identifying key players and proposing actions aimed at motivating key employees
  • Drive a culture of creativity, speed, efficiency, innovation, and continuous learning in the organization
Qualifications
  • Degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years' leadership experience in an advanced manufacturing company, with progressive levels of responsibility
  • Previous experience leading large-scale continuous improvement programs
  • Experience of site performance transformation is an advantage
  • Strong background in Lean practices, experience in using value stream mapping, and implementing lean tools, such as 5S+1, Visual Factory, Standard Work, Quick Changeover, Material Replenishment & Flow, and TPM

The ideal candidate will have a strong team leader and talent developer profile, with the ability to think strategically and execute tactically to deliver results. Analytical skills and data-driven thinking are essential to have a holistic overview of complex situations. Adaptability to work priorities in response to a rapidly changing environment is also required. Strong financial and analytical skills, along with strong technical knowledge, are necessary for success in this role.
