Job Description

A challenging role for a seasoned professional to lead our developer relations team, driving growth and adoption of our platform. As Developer Relations Manager at Canonical, you will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing team that engages with developer communities and ISVs to help them reach the Ubuntu ecosystem.

This is a role that requires strong technical grounding in software engineering, Linux and open source communities, container technologies and DevOps. You will be responsible for creating content to scale up adoption, demonstrating best practices, and showcasing new features. Additionally, you will provide input to development teams at Canonical based on feedback from ISVs, developers, and the wider community.

Responsibilities:
  • Build and lead a developer relations team at Canonical
  • Gain a deep understanding of snaps, Juju charms, or Docker containers
  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders in the developer community
  • Create and curate high-quality documentation, guides, tutorials, and release notes
  • Engage with the community through various means, including discourse, IRC, social media, conferences, etc.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in developer relations, technical marketing, or a related field
  • Strong technical skills, including expertise in Linux, containerization, and DevOps
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and assume full ownership of objectives as needed
