Job Title: Credit Management Expert

At Smith+Nephew, we are seeking a highly skilled Credit Management Expert to join our team. As a key member of our Credit Department, you will be responsible for assessing customers' creditworthiness, creating credit-scoring models, and predicting risks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess customers' creditworthiness and create credit-scoring models to predict risks.
  • Approve or reject credit line requests based on credibility, account analysis, and potential revenues and losses.
  • Set credit limits for new customers and existing ones, analyzing credit terms and ensuring alignment with SAP and contracts.
  • Use external credit investigation providers to assess portfolio risk and escalate risk customers with Credit Managers' support.
  • Support all departments in adherence to the corporate credit policy and make recommendations to upper management to escalate accounts to third-party collections, legal, or Credit hold review.
  • Remove bottlenecks in technical revenue recognition issues (SAP VFX3) by working with business and IT.
  • Perform credit worthiness assessments for Rental Deals and other types of contracts.
  • Develop monthly and weekly reports for the Credit department and provide visibility on hold reason accounts and next steps.
  • Carry out Bad Debt/Credit Note Provision calculations and accuracy/completeness reviews.
  • Maintain correct customer corporate hierarchy through the use of external customer-matching databases to ensure correct corporate exposure/risk is reflected in the master data.
  • Manage relevant OTC controls and work with internal and external audits.
  • Backup for Credit Manager and conduct an annual review of key customer groups to reapprove their credit limits in line with S&N's authority matrix.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • MS Office, Power BI, Cloud Database (Excel - Advanced level).
  • GetPaid/SAP.
  • English Level B2+ (minimum required).
  • More than 3 years' experience in Credit Management and/or Dispute Management, handling portfolios.
  • Financial knowledge, ability to interpret financial statements and key financial ratios to assess credit worthiness.
  • Data mining experience a plus.
  • Healthcare devices business sector experience a plus.
  • Accounts Receivables/OTC knowledge.
  • Time Management.

What will you be doing?
  • Perform commercial credit analysis on potential customers using external and internal risk reporting tools, bank and trade references, and financial statements for new customer setups.
  • Set up credit line recommendations through analysis of sales forecasts and pending orders for open and current customers.
  • Verify internal sales and payment history on existing accounts to recommend credit line increases.
  • Review any pending orders on credit hold or under Credit review due to credit limits being exceeded, assess invoice delinquency, and propose credit decisions on order shipments.
  • Support OTC activities as needed, as well as serve as a backup for Credit Managers.
  • Analyze, document, and study in-depth key accounts at corporate level of exposure during Annual Credit limit review.
  • Master data change request: receive and approve changes for new or existing customers.
  • Process and submit the annual credit review.
  • Backup for Credit Managers/support during leave of absence - order release and pending queries.
  • VFX3 Report provide support and solve problems in order to release documents to accounting.
  • Credit References: Provide companies' internal credit references for specific customers.
  • Fulfill creditworthiness requests for different departments (A/R, Commercial teams, Credit Management).
  • Meetings: Interact with different departments and/or upper management personnel to propose/review plans and strategies (or meeting according to business needs).
  • Perform administrative duties and reporting data.
What will you need to be successful?
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
