Position Overview:
The Communications Strategist is crucial in positioning Moody's within the media landscape as a leading integrated-risk assessment firm. This role serves as a trusted communications advisor to a diverse range of internal stakeholders who will:
Oversee all communications, both internal and external, across various Latin American markets, including Brazil. Spearhead the development and execution of communication strategies supporting multiple business units within Moody's. Cultivate and sustain media relationships, ensuring strong connections with journalists covering Moody's topics. Address media inquiries by providing relevant content, ratings, research, and facilitating access to analysts, economists, product specialists, and subject matter experts. Engage in proactive media outreach through targeted distributions of promotional digital content (podcasts, videos, infographics) and reports, emails, phone calls, briefings, interviews, and background meetings. Maintain an updated media contacts database, manage media engagement trackers, and keep detailed records of media activities, ensuring timely and accurate documentation of inquiries, communications campaigns, contacts, engagement metrics, and meeting data. Oversee media monitoring tools, including Meltwater and Factiva, to effectively track relevant news and trends. Contribute to monitoring, analysis, and reporting on media coverage in relation to competitors. Monitor and manage the team's projects using Trello. Create and publish clear, concise, and engaging social media content, focusing on LinkedIn and X. Analyze and report on content performance. Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or a related discipline. At least 3 years of experience in communications and media relations within a corporate setting, preferably in the financial services sector. Proven ability to manage communications and establish/maintain media relationships. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills (concise, impactful, and compelling content). Experience in effectively promoting social media content. Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines. Creative and effective problem-solving abilities. Must be a professional, organized, enthusiastic, and adaptable individual, capable of working effectively both as a collaborative team member and independently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 360, including Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint. Familiarity with media monitoring tools, such as Meltwater and Factiva, is advantageous. Fluency in both Spanish and Portuguese, with proficiency in English.Global Communications
