About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Asset Management (ITAM) Analyst to join our team at Moody's Investors Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing software catalogs and ensuring accuracy and integrity of all software model data points in our ServiceNow system.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software licensing models, industry best practices, and experience with asset management tools such as Flexera, SCCM, JAMF, etc. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage software catalogs and ensure accuracy and integrity of all software model data points in ServiceNow
  • Process and fulfill all assigned software tickets and tasks in accordance with delivery timelines defined by ITAM management
  • Receive purchase orders relating to software in ServiceNow and record receipt of purchased software entitlements/activation keys
  • Record and maintain all software entitlements and associated keys in the designated ITAM repository
  • Keep up to date with new software products and license rule changes
  • Serve as point of contact for license related questions and engage software sourcing, publishers, vendors, and contract teams as required
  • Populate and maintain the contents of the ITAM Definitive Media Library (DML) to support the packaging and delivery processes as part of the software request and fulfillment process
  • Ensure expiring maintenance, subscription and SaaS contracts are renewed after software re-harvesting and license optimization takes place
  • Assist in maintaining and updating software and hardware categories, subcategories, descriptions, and icons in the catalog
  • Assist in software publisher audits by providing license entitlement data when necessary
  • Research software product descriptions, versions and features to ensure software products are up to date
  • Partner with Sourcing and Line of Business to provide information on software license counts, metrics, usage, as well as provide input on terms that impact licensing during renewals and true ups
  • Utilize Flexera SAM discovery tool to assess tool capabilities for software discovery, inventory, and meter software usage for key vendor publishers and provide analysis of the software data
  • Partner with ServiceNow administrator to ensure data integrity and ongoing enhancement of the CMDB (Configuration Management Database) that integrates with Flexera

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 3+ years in Software Asset Management
  • 3-5 years data management experience
  • 3-5 years project management experience
  • Previous experience in software licensing models and industry best practices for efficient software lifecycle management
  • General knowledge and hands-on experience with asset management tools (Flexera, SCCM, JAMF, etc.), ServiceNow and CMDB
  • Knowledge of product use rights for major publishers such as Microsoft, Adobe, Tableau, Oracle, IBM, SAP
  • Highly organized, efficient and detail-oriented self-starter that can work independently and in a team setting with multiple stakeholders across a large diverse organization
  • Strong detail orientation, organization and time management skills
  • Must have excellent inter-personal skills, customer service and the ability to multi-task and prioritize with great initiative and can-do attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • IAITAM or similar certifications (CSAM)
