Job Description:

The ITAM Analyst plays a crucial role in managing software catalog and software license entitlement positions for the organization. This involves applying an understanding of software, hardware, license models, and request management to ensure accuracy and integrity of all software model data points in the Software Catalog within ServiceNow.

Responsibilities include:

  • Processing and fulfilling all assigned ServiceNow software tickets and tasks in accordance with delivery timelines defined by ITAM management;
  • Receiving purchase orders relating to software in ServiceNow to record receipt of purchased software entitlements/activation keys;
  • Maintaining all software entitlements and associated keys in the designated ITAM repository;
  • Staying up-to-date with new software products and license rule changes;
  • Knowledge of software catalogs, discovery inventory tools, discovery collection methods, normalization, and reconciliation;
  • Serving as point of contact for license-related questions and engaging software sourcing, publishers, vendors, and contract teams as required;
  • Polluting and maintaining the contents of the ITAM Definitive Media Library (DML) to support the packaging and delivery processes as part of the software request and fulfillment process;
  • Ensuring expiring maintenance, subscription, and SaaS contracts are renewed after software re-harvesting and license optimization takes place;
  • Assisting in maintaining and updating software and hardware categories, subcategories, descriptions, and icons in the catalog;
  • Providing input on terms that impact licensing during renewals and true-ups;
  • Utilizing Flexera SAM discovery tool to assess tool capabilities for software discovery, inventory, and meter software usage for key vendor publishers and providing analysis of the software data;
  • Partnering with ServiceNow administrator to ensure data integrity and ongoing enhancement of the CMDB (Configuration Management Database) that integrates with Flexera;

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree and minimum 3+ years in Software Asset Management;
  • Data management experience;
  • Project management experience;
  • Previous experience in software licensing models and industry best practices for efficient software lifecycle management;
  • General knowledge and hands-on experience with asset management tools (Flexera, SCCM, JAMF, etc.), ServiceNow and CMDB.
