The Accounting Supervisor role at Expeditors offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic finance team and contribute to the success of our organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, general ledger, capital expenditure, revenue recognition, and taxes.
  • Performance of month-end activities, including closing sub-ledgers, general ledger account reconciliations, reporting, and balance sheet account analysis.
  • Preparation and submission of tax returns and other information to statutory authorities for payroll, VAT, and corporation tax.
  • Implementation and maintenance of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Support on internal control evaluations and internal/external audits.
  • Maintenance of good relationships with operations teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions.
  • Generation of ad-hoc reports and metrics to monitor departmental performance.
  • Coaching and training of team members to ensure their skills and knowledge are up-to-date.
  • Building and monitoring performance metrics to ensure timely delivery of month-end reports, reconciliations, and other deliverables.
  • Review of department goals and personal plans with staff to ensure buy-in and accountability.
  • Ensuring compliance with company internal controls, specifically the Financial Process Control Documentation.
  • Proactive communication with the team to ensure continuous awareness and understanding of policies and regulations.
  • Driving process improvements required to enhance controls and quality of reconciliations and related processes.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 4+ years of proven accounting and finance experience, preferably in the global logistics industry.
  • US GAAP experience is highly desirable.
  • High-level tax and regulatory knowledge.
  • Strong accounting skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Excel formulas and pivot tables.
  • Advanced English skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate with peers and direct reports.
  • Experience in account receivable/order to cash is desirable.
  • Proven leadership attitude and skills.
  • Ability to drive through change.
