Freight Logistics Manager

This role is responsible for overseeing all inbound and outbound shipment processes at the Costa Rica Abbott Vascular factory. To be successful, you will require detailed knowledge of import/export logistics, international freight forwarding, and relevant regulations.
The position involves managing relationships with internal customers, freight forwarders, trucking companies, and carriers to ensure timely delivery of shipments. You will also be responsible for coordinating customs formalities, including classification of commodities, entering information into authorized systems, and transmitting data to Customs.
Additionally, this role entails maintaining up-to-date records of all entries, close entries through the customs system, and ensuring that broker confirms all transactions on a weekly basis. You will also perform record-keeping processes and maintain accurate documentation of all imports and exports.
A key aspect of this role is ensuring compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies, as well as national and international regulations. This includes evaluating new customs requirements and implementing standard procedures to maintain overall compliance posture.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders to resolve shipment issues, provide efficient interfaces with freight forwarders, and administer all freight logistics. This role also involves collaborating with customer brokers to clear imports and exports, as well as maintaining required documents.
To excel in this position, you should have 3+ years of previous logistics experience or equivalent, with knowledge of Free Trade Zone laws, Customs compliance, classification, and international trade regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, Outlook, TICA, DELZOF, or other customs systems is also essential.
Familiarity with FDA regulations and Matrix knowledge is a plus. If you are passionate about international trade, logistics, and compliance, this role could be an excellent fit for you.
