Responsibilities
- Identify and address issues related to Purchase Order (PO) and Purchase Requisition (PR) processing.
- Select appropriate contracts and suppliers to fulfill requisitions in line with established purchasing strategies.
- Manage purchase orders that are not processed electronically.
- Provide timely and professional reports, information, and analyses as required.
- Resolve queries and challenges encountered by stakeholders and junior team members in the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for supplier diversity.
- Assess the availability of requested items in the catalog and implement predefined actions.
- Collaborate with buyers, client groups, and suppliers to address delivery issues and process claims.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in invoices and account disbursements.
- Maintain and update Vendor Master Records and facilitate new vendor setups.
- Work with suppliers and end users to resolve issues related to invoices, damaged or returned goods, and shipping dates.
- Foster professional relationships with external suppliers and maintain strong partnerships with client users.
- Monitor and follow up on shipping dates with suppliers, addressing any issues that arise.
- Inform customers of any modifications to original requests.
- Gather pricing information from approved suppliers.
- Generate purchase orders from approved requisitions.
- Route high-value items not covered by contracts to the Senior Buyer for resolution.
Qualifications
- Education: A minimum of a bachelor's degree (or in progress) in Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or a combination of high school education and relevant experience.
- Experience: 3-5 years of prior experience in buyer or procurement roles.
- Languages: Proficiency in both Spanish and English (spoken and written); Portuguese is an advantage.
Additional Skills
- Familiarity with P2P tools and end-user functionality, as well as ERP/P2P systems such as SAP or Oracle (preferred).
- Comprehensive understanding of purchase-to-pay processes.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent quantitative, analytical, and communication skills with stakeholders and suppliers.
- Effective problem-solving abilities.
- Adherence to all organizational procurement policies and procedures.
- Team-oriented with high motivation, a positive attitude, and flexibility.
- Self-motivated with a sense of urgency, capable of thriving under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint).
