**The Opportunity**

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Security engineer who enjoys problem-solving and who has the motivation to learn and constantly improve our processes and capabilities. You will have extensive knowledge and expertise in Cloud Security and understand how to maintain a secure cloud platform and create exceptional experience outcomes for both internal and external customers. You can expect to continually learn at Micro Focus, developing new skills from a variety of experiences. Furthermore, we are entirely flexible where you work in your country or state be it at home, one of our offices or other space. You decide how you want to work and, with your teammates, how you want to collaborate.

The Senior Cloud Security engineer role is available at an exciting time for Micro Focus as we seek to scale and optimise our internal and external processes, transforming and delivering a customer experience that delights across all touch points, while focusing on our security posture.

**You are great at**
- Managing and maintaining tools used to secure public cloud accounts.
- Ensuring cloud security standards and principles are adhered to in all cloud environments.
- Implementing security objectives in a consistent, repeatable, and automated way across multiple cloud environments with an emphasis on Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Continuously identifying and developing security enhancing improvements through automation, better procedures, and other innovations.
- Engaging and working closely with project managers, engineers, and developers to ensure that they have secure-by-default systems in the cloud.
- Providing security recommendations on service design for cloud workloads.
- Investigating and analysing existing cloud structures and creating new and enhanced security methods that will enhance the security of cloud platforms.
- Providing recommendations and participating in the implementation and continuous improvement of technologies and services in the cloud.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with developers, engineers, program managers, SOC team, analysts, and architects to achieve continuous improvement in cyber defence/resilience.
- Staying abreast of emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and controls.
- Spotting and executing new security technologies and best practices.

- Proven experience in cloud security and in delivering innovative solutions able to collaborate with business leaders in building and running sustainable systems, which can evolve and adapt to changes in a global business environment.

- Highly developed communication skills: Ability and comfort with working at executive levels.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical/creative discipline or equivalent work experience in IT (Information Technology) or Information Security.
- Experience implementing security and hardening in public cloud, especially in a large or complex environment and thorough knowledge of cyber security frameworks.
- Knowledge of common scripting tools, PowerShell, Python.
- Strong, in-depth analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate well across all organizational levels
- Experience with cloud security configuration management using published baselines and monitoring tools.
- Must be able to provide guidance on architecture and design for cloud security platforms.
- Experience with source code control tools and Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation etc.).
