About the role:
The Business Process, Indirect Purchase to Pay role will
1) lead the design, governance, execution, and continuous improvement of the ways to help STP stakeholders across Boston Scientific's enterprise answer their questions and meet their needs and
2) be the strategic connector and subject matter expert, driving process alignment, stakeholder engagement, operational support, and clear communication to deliver business objectives and advocate for the global vision.
The Business Process, Indirect Purchase to Pay role is responsible for establishing and/or driving delivery a global, standardized, and optimized process architecture that supports operational efficiency, data integrity, and strategic transformation programs.
The Business Process, Indirect Purchase to Pay role is a key to advance Boston Scientific's Source to Pay vision to achieve 3 key outcomes: optimal stakeholder experiences, operational excellence, and value creation. The Business Process, Indirect Purchase to Pay role's partners closely with other STP Business Process roles, Global Operations Team (Sourcing, GBS Service Delivery, Quality, Legal, Global Compliance, Global IT, Finance, Tax), suppliers and 8K+ shoppers across functional, geographic and business unit boundaries to achieve and inform our transformation roadmap.
This role will report to the Global Process Champion for Source to Pay, who also serves as the Global Process Leader for Indirect Purchase Request to Order, Indirect Purchase Receipt to Put-away, and Invoice to Pay.
Primary Scope: Indirect Purchase Request Buy Channel Management:
Indirect purchasing buy channels, e.g. Purchase Requisition/Order, Catalog purchases, Contract-Based Invoices with and without release, non-PO invoices, and non-invoice payments. Supporting for suppliers who use and not use the SAP Business Network. The primary technologies include SAP ECC and S4/Hana, SAP Ariba, ServiceNow, SuccessFactors, MDG (Master Data Governance), Sirion, VIM (Vendor Invoice Management), Tableau, Power BI.
Responsibilities include:
- Support the Indirect Purchase Request to Put-away, Vendor Master, Supplier Enablement, and Invoice to Pay end-to-end process strategic vision, roadmap, and design while fulfilling customer requirements
- End-to-end process expert to select the right buy channel. Design and update existing processes within their respective areas ensure efficient end-to-end design and present them to the Global Process Stewards and Leaders, Business Process roles, & Process Councils for approval
- Drive to simplify, standardize, and scale process and end-to-end operations for optimal customer experience, value creation, and operational excellence
- Gather and provide leading practice perspectives, insights, risks and data analysis to support the development of end-to-end change vision, prioritization, and agenda
- Review metrics and supply relevant analytical insights and opportunities to propose priorities, policy changes, and process and technology/automation architecture.
- Decipher internal / external business challenges and apply best practices to present compelling arguments to improve processes and services including upstream and downstream dependencies
- Be responsible for driving execution and ensuring the successful completion of the assigned initiatives across the end-to-end process including to identify requirements, lead / support testing requirements, create and lead training
- Drive process efficiency, effectiveness, and governance while aligning process and technology standards globally
- Approve and prioritize requirements
- Partner with and influence Global Process Leaders, Global Process Stewards, Business Process roles and stakeholders to collect and analyze improvement opportunities, address escalations, and evolve process capability and competence.
- Promote a culture of end-to-end process excellence, service excellence and continuous value improvement

Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, Masters Preferred
- 1+ years progressive global process excellence and/or 3+ years purchasing request to put-away management experience with catalogs, contract-based invoices, and purchase orders with proven success in large matrixed, multi-national company.
- 3+ years of experience partnership with Sourcing to optimize purchasing experiences. Proven track record in process design, governance, analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, STP Systems (preferred: SAP Ariba), ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow), and intelligent automation tools to service Help requests.
- Preferred: 2+years using intelligent automation capabilities to advance indirect purchase request to pay.
- Fluent in English.
