Our intern program is tailored to individuals who are currently enrolled full-time students at an accredited university. The internship runs from January to November. Working hours can be a minimum of 24 hours up to 40 hours per week- dependent on the intern's availability. The goal of the Huntsman Intern Program is to provide a structured program that will equip interns with the skills and experience to help prepare for a successful career.
Compensation will be of 400,000 CRC.
Role Overview
As a
Purchasing
Intern
you will gain valuable hands-on experience while supporting business entities across the region. Working under the guidance of the Purchasing Manager, you will assist in essential tasks such as payment processing, account management, supplier and internal stakeholder support, project assistance, and contributing to process improvement efforts.
Role Responsibilities
- Assist with the PO creation process.
- Collaborate with the Vendor Master Data team, AP team and invoice processors to resolve payment errors efficiently.
- Follows up with suppliers not confirming POs in a timely fashion, preventing delivery delays or additional blocked invoice issues.
- Knows the controls and audits that apply to our operation and work aligned to the requirements of each control.
- Perform follow-ups to aid in the timely closing of outstanding items.
- Provide support to suppliers and internal stakeholders by addressing issues and escalations.
- Participate in regular business-driven meetings to observe and contribute.
- Work with team members to identify areas for improvement and assist in implementing solutions.
- Help maintain and update documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Contribute to process improvement projects.
- Support compliance efforts by contributing to organizational regulations, SOX, and Internal Audit controls.
Qualifications
- Current student of Engineering, Finance, Logistics or Supply Chain or related field of study (Preferable more than 75% of the career).
- Excellent knowledge of English (B2+) / Portugues is a plus.
- Microsoft Package / Mid or Advanced Excel skills.
- Very good analytical skills
- Excellent team player mindset.
