About the Role

United Mortgage of America, LLC is expanding its Costa Rica division and is seeking a highly skilled Marketing & IT Specialist to support our nationwide brand. This role requires a creative marketing professional with strong technical abilities, including website management, automation, social media, AI content creation, and IT support.

This is a contract/freelancer position for a U.S. company, performed onsite in our Alajuela office. It is NOT governed by Costa Rica's labor code, CCSS, Ministerio de Hacienda, or related labor obligations.

Primary Responsibilities1. Marketing, Branding & Social Media

  • Create marketing materials for loan originators and branch owners.
  • Design flyers, digital ads, social media content, presentations, and promotional videos.
  • Manage the United Mortgage Store (marketing asset library).
  • Maintain and grow all social media accounts across multiple platforms.
  • Produce engaging video content for marketing and internal use.

2. AI Video Creation (Synthesia)

  • Create AI-driven videos using Synthesia for:
  • Realtor presentations
  • Real estate agent partnership presentations
  • Loan originator training videos
  • Internal training content
  • Ensure all AI videos maintain brand consistency, tone, and professionalism.

3. Website Development & IT Support

  • Maintain and update the company website on WordPress.
  • Handle plugin updates, theme adjustments, security, hosting, backups, and troubleshooting.
  • Build or modify pages using PHP, HTML, CSS, Java, JavaScript as needed.
  • Manage website credentials, domains, and integrations.
  • Add and integrate new AI features into landing pages or internal training pages.

4. Zapier Automations

  • Build and maintain Zapier workflows connecting:
  • CRM systems
  • Lead forms
  • SMS and AI communication tools
  • Website automations
  • Marketing and operational pipelines
  • Troubleshoot and optimize Zaps to improve company automation.

5. Presentations & Content Creation

  • Create branded presentations for:
  • Realtors
  • Real estate agents
  • Loan originators
  • Assist with content strategy and maintain design consistency across all materials.

QualificationsRequired Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing (required).
  • 2–3+ years of experience in digital marketing, branding, or content creation.
  • Hands-on experience with video editing or video-based marketing.

Required Technical Skills

  • Web development programming: PHP, HTML, CSS, Java, JavaScript.
  • WordPress website maintenance & creation (required).
  • Zapier integrations (critical requirement).
  • Synthesia (AI avatar video creation).
  • Graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Suite, etc.).
  • Social media management and content planning.

Soft Skills

  • Highly creative and detail-oriented.
  • Strong organizational skills and reliability.
  • Ability to work independently in an office environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Compensation & Contract Structure

  • $12,000 USD per year (paid as a contract/freelance service).
  • Not subject to:
  • CCSS
  • Ministerio de Hacienda
  • Costa Rican Labor Code
  • Aguinaldo
  • Paid holidays or benefits
  • Work performed on-site in our Alajuela office, under a U.S. contractor agreement.
