BUSINESS ANALYST IV (REMOTE/HYBRID)

**DESCRIPTION**:
The Resource Manager, (RM) must be an experienced business professional with a thorough understanding of resource management and how it supports the customer outcome. Projects resources are focused on delivering services across the broad breadth of virtual technology products and solutions across the customer experience as they transform their business to their cloud solutions. RMs manage high volume and complex staffing in a dynamically changing environment. They manage activities and tasks requiring independent judgment, in staffing project roles with the best-fit consultants in the timeframe required for customer success. They are responsible for presenting available internal resources and if required, external qualified subcontracting resources that meet the skill and experience levels required. This role partners with the Practice Managers and Project /Program Managers to maximize both utilization and revenue opportunities, while driving to meet customer’s expectations. RM focuses on staffing of their assigned resources but works as part of a team managing a centrally managed pool of delivery consultants and selected partners. Resource Managers also work closely with the Practice Managers to consider training, shadowing and growth opportunities while driving to utilization and servicing goals - (supply side of business). They also work with the Project /Program managers to define the roles and skills required by the projects (Demand Side of the business) to appropriately match open requests to available staff. The RM needs to be disciplined and follow standard processes to ensure the operational data is accurate and timely in order to capture operational metrics.

The Resource Manager (RM) will track and provide reporting and metrics while leveraging utilization reports in making decisions. They will engage in resource forecasting and/or resource demands and surpluses in working with the practices. The Resource Manager, in conjunction with the Delivery Excellence org and the PSO Practices, will focus on continual process improvement.

**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES:
- Proactively identify resources to present for open requirements through a variety of methods including skills searches, working across other practices/regions and then externally to partners. Establishes weekly resource calls with Practice Managers and Project Managers to establish resourcing short term and longer term staffing needs and then publishes weekly list of open requests that are pending and will require staffing.
- Escalates urgent requests, those with start dates ? 5 days, on priority staffing calls with Delivery Office Director and practice management.
- Acts as a resourcing business partner to a regional or national practice leader. They assist in assessing capacity and supply as well as trying to staff resources to maintain high utilization for the teams they support. Will guide the practices on the type of demand that is trending throughout the quarter and beyond.
- Works across all internal teams to communicate availability of resources and ensure high utilization rates across the region and nationally.
- Tracks that the necessary agreements are completed with outside partners to ensure resources liabilities are addressed before going on site.
- Identifies resources are available at the required time, and qualified to perform work on VMware projects. Escalates resource or quality issues with practices and Delivery management to ensure resolution.
- Provides coordination/communication with appropriate regional /national managers and delivery personnel to ensure resources are available to meet schedule, budget, and quality commitments.
- Identifies, reports and communicates project staffing risks and trends.
- Reports various aspects of the business and provides insights on billable utilization and forecasts by practice and nationally when available

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Highly organized and strong process orientation
- Strong customer service background is key with experience managing customers over the phone
- Clear communication and ability to logically explain steps in a process such as staffing
- Understanding of technical consulting skill sets and services supporting VMware technology stack and solutions
- Proven experience in staffing technical resources across complex and organizationally challenging environments
- Strong leadership qualities and organizational skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles
- Experience with outside partners for a billable consulting team is preferred
- Knowledge and experience with resourcing and staffing tools is a plus
- Solid understanding of project management practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum of 5 years of Resource Management experie
