The FinOps business analyst must be able operate independently with the ability to influence and coalesce with solution teams across the organization to manage cloud spend and drive effective optimization.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactively identify areas of cloud optimization to eliminate unused and unnecessary resources.
- Strong understanding of assessing inventory across cloud providers
- Enhance existing tagging strategy to ensure cloud resources are mapped back to appropriate consumers.
- Work collaboratively with external parties including cloud suppliers (e.g. AWS) and Pfizer DHS strategic suppliers as part of reporting and optimization activities.
- Partner with the DHS Engineering Practice to prioritize FinOps automation activities that add the most value to the overall Platform.
- Commit to ongoing learning and professional development.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, with experience utilizing cloud technologies.
- 2+ years of cloud-specific experience with Amazon Web Services; demonstrated experience with AWS
- Experience with AWS cost and usage reporting capabilities
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements and constraints
- Ability to use creative thinking and advanced problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Working knowledge of Atlassian Confluence and Jira is desired.
- Demonstrated experience in an agile work environment possessing qualities such as a collaborative mindset, adaptability to change, and a proactive problem-solving approach.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications in AWS, Azure, or GCP, such as Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or Cloud Engineer.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Understanding of regulatory compliance and security standards in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Working knowledge of Atlassian Confluence and Jira is desired.
