About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team at Costa Rica Marriott Hotel Hacienda Belen. In this key role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in guest rooms, public areas, and pool facilities. Your primary focus will be on inspecting rooms after cleaning by Housekeepers, verifying room status, and addressing any discrepancies. You will also assist in managing daily activities, coordinate efforts with other departments, and document issues for resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and pool facilities to ensure they meet quality standards.
  2. Verify room status, determine discrepant rooms, prioritize room cleaning, and update departing guest room status.
  3. Assist management in managing daily housekeeping activities and coordinating efforts with Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry teams.
  4. Document and resolve issues related to discrepant rooms with the Front Desk.
  5. Prepare, distribute, and communicate changes in room assignments.
  6. Communicate issues to next shifts and complete required paperwork.
  7. Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
  8. Foster positive working relationships with colleagues and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  9. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
  10. Anticipate and address guests' service needs.
  11. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

Ability to move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 55 pounds without assistance and in excess of 55 pounds with assistance.Ability to push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and other work-related machinery over sloping and uneven surfaces.Physical stamina to stand, sit, kneel, or walk for extended periods during a work shift.Manual dexterity to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight.Good visual acuity to read and verify information in various formats.Excellent communication skills to interact with colleagues and guests.
