Citi is a leading global bank with operations in over 160 countries. We are seeking an experienced Business Risk & Control specialist to join our team as a key member of the HR Data Governance function.
The estimated salary for this role is $110,000 - $140,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
Job Description:
We are looking for a seasoned professional with a thorough understanding of controls to limit risk and development of supporting metrics to act as alarms or validation of a healthy and sustained control environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Help coordinate governance and the facilitation of the execution of the Manager Control Assessment (MCA) as required by the MCA Standard
- Assist in contributing to the quality, completeness, and accuracy of the implementation of the Control Framework, including Risk Control Policy, Control Standard, Issue Management Policy, Lesson Learned Policy, and Control Inventory
- Provide support in the identification of issue root cause, partnering with control and process owners to recommendations holistic corrective actions and improvements
- Support on the implementation of the Lessons Learned Policy, including monitoring of control breaches and dissemination and learnings across other business units for process improvement to limit the occurrence of similar future events and where similar risk exposure might exist
- Influence decisions on the review and challenge process, within HR and HR Data teams, on the effective design and management of controls to mitigate risks as required by the Control Standards
- Perform analysis to support with the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of the MCA through controls prior to the execution of a process (QC)
- Influence decisions to support adherence to the MCA Standard through controls after the execution of a process (QA)
- Support and contribute to Operational and Compliance Risk in accordance with established Policy requirements
- Work with the team to identify, assess, escalate, and manage risk exposures across Risk Categories (Operational Compliance, Strategic, Reputational, etc.), including material, emerging, and concentration risks in accordance with enterprise Policies and the establishment of Key Indicators to monitor risk exposures
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of experience in managing risk in processes
- Thorough understanding of controls to limit risk and development of supporting metrics to act as alarms or validation of a healthy and sustained control environment
- Experience with workflow systems, audit, and review of risk-related controls
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Outstanding relationship building and relationship management skills
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
