Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Financial Operations Specialist to join our team at Emerson. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, strong communication abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit employee expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Import approved expense reports into the ERP accounting system for payment.
  • Ensure all expenses have proper approvals and meet policy requirements.
  • Respond promptly and tactfully to employee and other internal customer inquiries.
  • Reconcile expenses against corporate card statements when provided and request copies of any missing invoices.
  • Review ER hold reports, (pending manager approval, pending payables, etc.).
  • Follow up with employees, approvers, and Amex contacts to remove exceptions.
  • Collaborate proactively with employees and peers to reduce cycle time and costs.
  • Interact with auditors, accountants, and management as needed to provide information about the department and specific issues.
  • Plan own work scope to maintain operational excellence at target (48 hours SLA).
  • Coordinate emergency payments with a sense of urgency.
  • Manage balance between high-volume items and priorities according to financial and customer impact.
  • Proactive on issue resolution by generating tickets and triggering escalations on time.
  • Document and update standard operating procedures and own process workflows.
  • Additional duties as required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An undergraduate or technician degree in Finance, Marketing, Accounting, Business Administration, or Audit.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience with ORACLE or SAP enterprise systems is a plus.
