This associate role provides an opportunity to make a significant contribution to the success of the Ratings & Research Support (RRS) and Ratings & Research (R&R) teams by providing analytical support services.
You will focus primarily on supporting the Corporate Finance Group (CFG), dedicated to rating non-financial corporate issuers, with potential for cross-training in supporting varying asset classes and methodologies as part of career progression.
This position provides a unique opportunity to foster skills valuable to any future career in the financial services industry.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preliminary credit analysis to support ratings, research, and analytical outreach following guidance from D&A Manager.
- Prepare financial spreadsheets and charts, analyze data and financial statements, build and update financial models and forecasts, and write analytical commentary in accordance with Moody's methodologies.
- Interpret and analyze financial data provided by Financial Data Analysts (FDAs) group to perform the preliminary credit analysis.
- Demonstrate the ability to understand and identify key factors that affect issuers and issuer credit ratings under full supervision and guidance from the D&A Manager.
- Support credit monitoring/surveillance of issuers by preparing data for surveillance, periodically updating preliminary components of analysis, and initiating/escalating deeper credit reviews when necessary.
