Chief Accounting Strategist

Job Summary:

The Chief Accounting Strategist will be responsible for analyzing monthly balance sheet account variances, examining and interpreting account records, and reconciling discrepancies. Additionally, this role will involve performing complex process analysis, communicating recommendations to management, and conducting thorough reviews of departmental spending.

Responsibilities:

1. Analyze deeply monthly balance sheet account variances to report results to 3M Corporate.
2. Examine and interpret account records, compile financial information, and reconcile balance sheet and cash accounts to correct discrepancies and open balances.
3. Perform strong and complex process analysis and communicate recommendations to management.
4. Conduct thorough review of departmental monthly spending, analyze, and calculate month-end-close accruals for temporary labors and utilities (electricity, gas) for 3M manufacturing plants.
5. Prepare, Review and Approve journal entries, perform accounting corrections, and trend analysis to ensure accurate records.
6. Prepare and analyze daily cash position reports working with Bank of America and JP Morgan.
7. Manage the Construction in Progress account.
8. Responsible for AFE capitalizations, closing and expensing projects and new assets creation.
9. Manage monthly depreciation and AFD calculation and processing.
10. Reconcile, Review and Approve Balance Sheet Accounts
11. Calculate and prepare monthly accruals, accounting adjustments, prepaids and any other type of accounting record.
12. Reconcile intercompany receivables and payables accounts, bank accounts such as lockbox and disbursements, PP&E and depreciation, Intangibles and amortization and trade receivables and payables accounts.

Estimated Salary:$120,000 - $160,000 per year, based on location and experience.

Required Qualifications:

1. +4 years of continuous experience in Accounting (General Ledger)
2. Bachelor's degree (completed) in Finance or Accounting
3. Fluent English (B2+)
4. Experience in Transition of processes from outside countries
5. Knowledge proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point)
6. Excellent communication skills
7. Experience working with SAP
