The Opportunity
This position works out of our Costa Rica - Alajuela location in the Electrophysiology Division.
In Abbott's Electrophysiology (EP) business, we're advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
As the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for leading the Finance function for one or more value streams and will be the primary partner for CR Senior Operation leader in all finance related issues.
The major areas of responsibility include budget and planning, standard cost, manufacturing variances analysis and reporting, capital projects, close and reporting, and other related financial requests.
The position supervises senior and financial analysts supporting the value streams.
Your Responsibilities
- Operational business support: Supervise the day-to-day financial support to Production Manager, Supervisors, and other operations personnel.
- Support operational managers in monetary spending overhead analysis and budget control; audit cycle count program to assure its effectiveness and timely report its results to management.
- Supervise all department employees and ascertain adherence to Human Resources policies and regulations, including development of department and individual goals and activities, performance evaluations, training, and coaching.
- Advise staff managers on financial and non-financial activities that impact, complement, or improve facility operations performance.
- Closing: Supervise the execution of the monthly general ledger close process for its respective business units, including spending accruals.
- Reporting: Supervise the analysis of financial results, verifying its reasonableness, the preparation of periodic manufacturing performance reports to management, including product cost by area, and coordinates and/or prepares special ad hoc information requests for local, division, or corporate management.
- Budgets/Forecasting: Leads and/or supervises the annual manufacturing budget plan (material, labor & overhead); coordinates and summarizes the necessary data for the timely preparation of quarterly forecasts, Strategic plan, and other similar analyses.
- Product costing: Supervise the development of standard product costing, after proper verification of routings, bills of materials, and components costs, including its review for reasonableness; and the preparation of cost estimates as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree Business Administration with major in accounting and/or Finance.
- 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment in accounting and/or Finance.
- Fully Bilingual (English and Spanish).
- Knowledge of integrated cost accounting systems and information systems.
Salary Information
The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
