Job Title: Senior Buyer

Job Summary:

The Senior Buyer will be responsible for the strategic and tactical procurement of goods and services for Viant Medical. This role will involve managing key suppliers and supply relationships, implementing global supply programs, and developing procurement processes.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure compliance with GMP and SOPs to meet FDA and ISO regulations and quality standards.
  2. Purchase high-quality raw materials, components, and production supplies at the lowest cost, while ensuring timely delivery to support production schedules.
  3. Negotiate price increases with suppliers using established strategies.
  4. Maintain the PPV log tool updated with unfavorable PPV impacts.
  5. Manage inventory levels and use the Purchase Authorization Approval form to extend liability when required.
  6. Process, review, and confirm requisitions for assigned raw materials, indirect products, or services through the ERP system.
  7. Confirm PO information with suppliers and update as required.
  8. Review daily open order reports and take appropriate action.
  9. Manage PO dates properly to maintain accurate promise dates for OTD information.
  10. Expedite, follow up, or extend deliveries of open purchase orders to ensure timeliness with production schedules.
  11. Manage return authorization requests and negotiate credit, reworks, or replacements.
  12. Reconcile invoice discrepancies and help resolve AP-related issues as needed.
  13. Provide forecasted information to suppliers and stay informed on supplier capacity constraints.
  14. Maintain strong supplier relationships and meet with vendors as necessary regarding capabilities, price quotes, or production problems.
  15. Participate in the development of alternate suppliers and the Supplier Performance scoring process.
  16. Lead and participate in functional projects as required.
  17. Partner with internal customers to identify, organize, prioritize, and execute projects to meet global supply chain initiatives.
  18. Use data-driven analysis methods to identify root cause problem areas and lead corrective action.
  19. Train, mentor, and assist Buyers with job-related questions and issues.
  20. Participate in corporate Sourcing initiatives as a Subject Matter Expert and site leader for program implementation.

Requirements:

Knowledge/Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field preferred. APICS Certification preferred but not required.

Job Experience: 5-7 years of experience in a buying/purchasing function or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in the medical device industry highly desirable.
