Citi seeks a highly skilled Controller Audit and Exam Professional to join its Global Financial Controls (GFC) team. This role will drive Process Deep Dives and Audit/Exam management, closely working with Citi Controllers Team, All three Lines of Defense (LOD), and other compliance teams.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to guide, influence, and convince others, particularly colleagues in other areas.
This position entails ensuring timely risk assessments/process deep dives of new & existing processes and reducing risk exposure. As a key coordinator during ongoing Internal audits, you will liaise between auditors and process teams to ensure efficient exchange of data and queries. Stakeholder management through active communication with Internal Auditors as well as stakeholders within the Controllers organization is also essential.
Responsibilities include reviewing Regulatory Exam deliverables impacting Americas Controllers Function, collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand end-to-end processes to identify risks and management strategies, and being accountable for timely delivery of review programs for process deep dives.
You will engage with Internal Audits Teams to support/planning and finalizing Audit Entities, Audit Periods, and Scope. Accountability lies in planning for Audit Reviews in preparation of the Internal audits, execution of reviews, and recommendation of areas for action/improvement. Managing Internal audit requests, ensuring they are met on time and completely, providing timely heads-up for Audit teams for any delays, and escalating to senior stakeholders in controllership for any delays is also part of this role.
Key qualifications include experience in identifying risk, evaluating processes, and documenting process flows depicting corresponding controls. In-depth knowledge of Audit process and hands-on experience with report preparations for multiple levels/layers is required. Understanding of Business Risks and Exposure, along with a CPA/CA/CIMA or equivalent master's degree, is also necessary. 6+ years of relevant working experience in Audit, Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, or related fields is preferred. Prior banking experience would be an advantage.
