Bachelor's degree or equivalent

The AWS Fraud Investigations Team (FIT) is expanding and standing up a team in San Jose, Costa Rica.
You will manage a group of investigators in our San Jose Office.
This group is part of a global team of investigators, analysts, and specialists who investigate fraudulent cloud computing behavior, account compromise, and complex transactions.
You will help drive related intelligence initiatives targeting new and emerging fraud threats to AWS.
You will leverage your analytical and data skills to deep dive a myriad of fraud activity to help drive complex investigations and investigative strategies.
You will be at the forefront of keeping abreast of trends and fraud issues impacting the Cloud industry to ensure AWS is leading the curve in identifying, mitigating and preventing fraud attacks.
You will provide leadership and administrative support to your team and manage them to focus on development, meeting decision quality targets, meeting and exceeding service levels, and executing priority projects with various internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities include:

- Assist in building and managing a San Jose, Costa Rica, team of investigators conducting complex and deep dive investigations of suspected fraud
- Work with peer managers and investigative teams in cities around the globe to provide a globally coordinated one-team approach to fighting fraud
- Develop the career and skills of investigators by hiring the best, identifying growth opportunities, and implementing supplemental training
- Analyze, meet, and report on goals aligned to customer experience improvement, fraud operating expense reduction, productivity and service levels
- Reviewing and analyzing performance metrics to identify areas of opportunity that will drive performance improvement
- Work with cross-functional teams across Amazon to collaborate on fraud risks and investigations
- Work with stakeholders to drive process improvements that will impact internal and external customers
- Maintain the confidentiality of all information obtained during the investigations process
- Take on ad-hoc projects/assignments related to fraud investigations and risk management as necessary
- Deliver significant business impact and contributions to AWS through quality, productivity, and customer experience improvements

A day in the life

This position will report to the site leader on the same team and will manage a team of Risk Specialists at the same site.
It is responsible for setting the vision, direction, and culture of the team by managing individual and team performance expectations and goals.
It will provide individual coaching feedback sessions and one-on-ones that focus on improving direct reports' performance and driving customer satisfaction.
It will monitor and drive excellence with service levels and schedule adherence, quality issues, and training in coordination with FIT's Workforce Team, Quality Assurance Team, and Training and Knowledge Management Team, respectively.
This team will conduct complex and deep dive investigations of bad actors and criminal enterprises to protect existing accounts and prevent new fraudulent ones from operating in AWS.
The position requires coordination with FIT leaders and investigation managers around the globe to ensure that global operations run effectively and efficiently.
It will work with cross-functional teams across Amazon to collaborate on fraud risks and investigations.
