Job Description

The role requires an individual to lead a team of engineers and designers in the development and maintenance of globally distributed data storage solutions. Primary responsibilities include overseeing the engineering, design, and operationalization of scalable data storage systems that align with Pfizer's business and security requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead engineering teams responsible for the design, development, and implementation of large-scale data storage solutions that meet Pfizer's business requirements and security standards.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and implement large-scale data storage solutions to achieve business goals and improve operational efficiency.
  3. Provide technical guidance and support to ensure the successful planning, development, and implementation of data storage solutions that are scalable, reliable, and secure.
  4. Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, internal and external, to ensure alignment on data storage solutions and services.
  5. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data storage, and advise on the adoption and implementation of these technologies to maintain Pfizer's leadership and competitive advantage.
  6. Cultivate a strong team culture of innovation, open communication, and collaboration to foster growth, learning, and achievement of business objectives.
  7. Perform other related duties as assigned by management and other leadership team members.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  2. At least 5 years of experience in data storage solutions, preferably in a leadership or managerial role.
  3. Strong technical knowledge of data storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and cloud storage solutions.
  4. Experience with data storage and management software, such as NetApp and Dell.
  5. Extensive knowledge of industry-standard protocols for data storage and transfer.
  6. Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  8. Strategic thinker with a strong ability to analyze complex data storage requirements and develop effective solutions.
  9. Possesses a high level of technical expertise and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide guidance and support to less-experienced team members.
  10. Experience with cloud storage and data analytics tools a plus.
  11. Prioritizes tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  12. Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information with discretion.
