The Data Management Specialist plays a crucial role in Experian's data supply chain, ensuring our data assets are clean, enhanced, organized, and ready to deliver. This specialist designs and implements data ingestion pipelines, drives quality improvements, and adheres to standard processes and procedures.


**Key Responsibilities**



  • Monitor the daily production environment to ensure timely completion of batch jobs.
  • Provide client support for data file import and export from supported platforms.
  • Research and resolve media and data issues.
  • Update communication and procedure logs.
  • Maintain data file quality and currency.
  • Generate reports as needed to ensure file accuracy.
  • Perform file maintenance and quality verification checks.
  • Establish and track quality control functions and procedures.
  • Analyze new data for accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with technical personnel to resolve data quality issues.
  • Develop custom production programs to meet client needs.
  • Set up utility JCL jobs to process data on the mainframe.

**Qualifications**



  • 0-2 years of experience in the IT industry with a focus on data management, data cleanup, or similar activities.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Basic oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic organizational and prioritizing skills.
  • Basic PC and mainframe skills.
  • Proven passion for data quality discipline.
  • Extremely meticulous and attentive to detail with high levels of concentration.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Objective, creative, and diplomatic team player.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure.
  • Good multi-tasking skills and ability to manage varying priorities.

**Preferred Technical Skills**



  • Data storage, integration, and ETL design and build skills using tools like IBM Infosphere, Informatica, Pentaho, Talend, DB2, and Hadoop.
  • Planning and collaboration skills using tools like Atlassian Confluence, Trello, Jira, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Data manipulation and visualization skills using tools like Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, JSON, and Hive.
  • Feedback and issue management skills using tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Service Now.
  • Knowledge of managed file transfer, enterprise file synch-and-share protocols, and encryption methods in on-premise, cloud, and big data environments.
