Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Courtyard San Jose Escazu. As a key member of our culinary staff, you will play a crucial role in preparing and presenting high-quality food to our guests.
Main Responsibilities
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes and quality standards.
Prepare and cook food to meet presentation standards and food preparation checklists.
Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers safely and efficiently.
Maintain high standards of food quality while preparing dishes.
Serve food in proper portions onto suitable receptacles.
Clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment regularly.
Monitor appliance temperatures and food safety to ensure compliance with company policies.
Foster a clean and organized work environment by adhering to safety and security protocols.
Maintain uniform and personal appearance as per company standards.
Working Relationships
This role requires excellent communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues and management. You will work collaboratively with other team members to achieve common goals and support a positive working environment.
Physical Requirements
This position involves standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods. It also requires reaching overhead, below the knees, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance may be necessary.
