Emerson, a leading global technology and engineering company, is seeking a skilled Customs Compliance Specialist to join its Regulatory Compliance Global Shared Services team.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Provide administrative support to the team on various tasks related to customs compliance.
  • Complete daily requests on behalf of Emerson entities, sales offices, and other locations globally.

**Specific Responsibilities**

  • Conduct Restricted Party Screening and analyze potential matches.
  • Perform end use, end user, and anti-boycott screening with Emerson-authorized tools.
  • Release orders and shipments export holds and import holds as required.
  • Audit import and export documentation on behalf of Emerson entities, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
  • Create and maintain performance metrics for customs compliance.
  • Analyze transactions and reports based on U.S. import and export programs.
  • Support the import HS classification process for entities in the U.S., if required.
  • Request annual Certificates of Origin from suppliers, track certificates received, and review their accuracy.
  • Follow distributors to complete Due Diligence Questionnaires in Oracle Checkpoint.
  • Maintain proper record-keeping for mentioned activities.

**Minimum Education/Knowledge Required**

  • Technical High School Diploma in Customs Administration or Logistics.
  • Enrolled in Customs/Trade Administration-related college program.
  • Intermediate knowledge in Customs & Trade Terminology (valuation, country of origin, incoterms, commercial invoice, and freight documentation).

**Additional Requirements**

  • Good communication skills in English (minimum B1 level).
  • Additional foreign languages are an asset.
  • Intermediate Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

**Experience Required**

  • 6 months to 1 year in a work environment, working with internal or external customers.
