Compliance Specialist for Global Payroll Operations

The International Payroll team plays a pivotal role in delivering seamless services to all lines of business, spanning across UK, Canada and Latin America. To achieve success, we rely on the expertise of our associates with diverse experience and knowledge in this field.

As part of a team of 8, this position involves payroll processing for Moody's UK Payroll. The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for 9 UK entities (1800 colleagues) along with 3 UK team members, ensuring timely monthly processing from start to finish. In addition to payroll processing, some administration associated with benefits (e.g., medical plans, life insurance and disability plans) will also be required as part of this role.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support across payrolls, as advised by the AVP.
  • Input and process the UK payroll under supervision.
  • Complete post-payroll administration, including preparation and reconciliation of cost reports.
  • Manage auto-enrolment administration (UK).
  • Respond to employee and third-party queries.
  • Provide general payroll or benefits support, as required.
  • Run various reports in Success Factors to support payroll processing.
  • Administer Season Ticket Loans and the cycle-to-work scheme.
  • Reconcile UK payrolls and backfill EMEA payrolls when needed.
  • Process P11D submissions.
  • Address payroll-related administrative requests promptly.
Requirements
  • Ensure that all data handled meets stringent audit/SOX requirements.
  • Maintain a flexible attitude and prioritise tasks to accommodate urgent requests.
  • Demonstrate a professional and courteous attitude towards colleagues at all times.
  • Show ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members to develop creative solutions to workflow issues.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of UK payroll and related legislation.
  • Proven experience working in a payroll environment handling UK payrolls.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; IPPM qualification (full or part) would be beneficial.
  • Technical skills:
    • Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills.
    • Ability to learn additional programs as needed.
    • Experience with HR and Payroll systems.
  • Non-technical skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
    • Highly organised and efficient, with the ability to handle multiple demands and deadlines.
    • Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Strong team player with flexibility, diligence and meticulousness.
