Inside Sales Engineer I

The Inside Sales Engineer I role is a key position in our sales team, responsible for optimizing our quote-to-cash service levels by providing technical support and sales expertise to customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate and select model numbers based on customer-specific data or applications.
  • Develop quotations with accurate knowledge of Emerson products, customer requirements, and sales strategies.
  • Apply system tools to provide customer product application support and review solutions as needed.
  • Review quotes for technical conformance, ensuring valid model options, configuration ranges, documentation options, and device compatibility to application.
  • Participate in preparing the quotation package, ensuring it meets technical, commercial, and competitive strategy requirements.
  • Follow up on sent proposals to increase sales hit rates for specific customers.
  • Perform technical reviews of orders to ensure accurate product processing and availability of technical requirements and documentation.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of Emerson quotation tools and pricing policies, continually improving knowledge of Automation Solution products, applications, and industries served.
  • Understand and apply Emerson commercial policies and business practices related to quote entry.
  • Ensure compliance with import/export, contract, and government requirements, screening orders for compliance with business unit Terms and Conditions, agreements, and standards.
  • Provide backup and support for internal and external sales personnel to maintain good service levels.
  • Provide consulting support to Order Entry Analysts or Order Management when processing orders.
  • Achieve targets on efficiency, service levels, and quality.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, such as Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Chemistry.
  • 1-2 years of customer service experience is preferred.
  • Portuguese language (Intermediate-Advanced) and English (Basic-Intermediate) are required.
  • Proven keyboard skills and strong proficiency in using Windows and MS Office applications are essential.
  • Willingness to work on flexible shift schedules based on business needs.
  • Residing in Costa Rica.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Solid prioritizing and organizational skills, along with being a self-starter.
  • Interest in the mix of technical, customer service, and sales.
